Main Lake
Main Lake is the larger of the two lakes that we have on the complex. At around 2 acres of fishable water it is the ideal size to comfortably accommodate 2 to 3 anglers. The lake which is around 40 years old was dug for peat by hand and therefore has a varied bottom with superb features under the water surface. You can expect depths of 1 to 7 feet, most of which is silt with gullys and
plateaus. Gravel areas, bars and weed beds are there for you to find and fish.
The surroundings are all left as natural as possible with a wide selection of trees and bushes, grasses and shrubs that make the Main Lake a very picturesque lake to fish. The lake is fed by water that drains down the valley so even when it's hot the lake stays full and fresh. There are 4 swims on the lake that are easily accessible. The banks are just above water level so it is safe and easy to land and return the fish. All are single swims, perfect for the bivvy, rods and equipment. Each swim has its own unique underwater and margin features to fish to so there is no swim better than another. The lake has NO cray fish, poisson chat or any other nuisance species to pester you so when your bite alarm beeps you can feel confident that one of our big carp is feeling hungry!
